Cable subscribers in Valparaiso may have to hook up a television antenna if they want to watch the Crusaders play in the first round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
Valparaiso will play Gonzaga on Thursday, and while South Bend station WSBT plans to broadcast the game, WSBT isn’t available on Comcast systems in Valparaiso. Comcast officials said they’re exploring other options, including putting the game on a local access channel.
But if Valpo fans and others can’t figure out how to use the old-fashioned rabbit ears, they can follow the games on the Internet.
The NCAA’s site, www.ncaasports.
com, offers up to 37 games streamed live into your computer for $9.95. Subscribers also get highlights, news conferences or replays from any game from this year’s tournament.
One catch: Games broadcast by your local CBS affiliate are not available for live viewing.
