John McHugh, age 77, of Chicago, died peacefully at home with his family by his side, beloved husband of 43 years to Bridie, nee Halloran; loving father of John Jr. (Susanne), Martin (Jodi) and Gerard (Jennifer). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nora. Proud grandpa to Morgan, Sloan, Keely and Ethan; dear brother to Nellie Bordes, Patrick “P”, Bridget Rowland and the late Molly Green, Thomas, Michael and Martin; dear brother-in-law to many; uncle to many nieces and nephews who will miss their “Uncle John”. He was a cherished friend and neighbor. John was Chief Engineer of the Monroe Building and a member of Local 399 Engineer’s Union for over 35 years. His courage and perseverance was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a great man. Visitation at The Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy., Park Ridge, Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral Friday 10:15 a.m. to St. Constance Church, Chicago. Mass at 11 a.m. Interment Maryhill Cemetery.
