Acting Park Ridge Mayor Michael MaRous announced last week that the five development teams competing for the job of remaking downtown have all submitted their formal proposals.

“These really are tremendous proposals,” MaRous said at a City Council meeting.

Five 90-minute meetings have been scheduled at Emerson Middle School, 8101 N. Cumberland Ave., Niles, for presentations by each team. The meetings will be held at 7 p.m. March 29 and March 31; 6 and 8 p.m. April 7; and 6 p.m. April 8. The public is invited, but comments and questions will not be allowed.

The proposals are for redevelopment of Target Area 2 in the city’s central business district, known locally as Uptown. Target Area 2 includes the former Bredemann automobile dealerships and the site of the city’s underground water reservoir.
