Homer Lee Mason, 76, of Glenview, at rest March 19, 2004. Husband of 48 years to Elizabeth, nee Kaerwer, Mason; devoted father of Lynne (Ron) Shay, Elizabeth “Lisa” (David) Ganfield and Julie (Todd) Beja; proud grandfather of seven; dear brother of Mildred Kent and Harlan and Reginald Mason. Homer was a WWII veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. Formerly of Jacksonville, IL, where he maintained farming interests until his death. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in business and finance. In 1952 he joined the Chicago Investment firm of Bacon Whipple & Co. as a stock broker. He became a partner and devoted his 43 year career to that firm, which later merged with Stifel Nicolaus. Homer was a loving family man who enjoyed golf, fishing and his Big Ten Investment Club. Visitation Wednesday, 4 to 7 p.m., at N.H. Scott & Hebblethwaite Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd., Glenview (2 blks south of Lake Ave. on west side). Memorial Service Thursday, 11 a.m., at the Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm Street, Glenview, IL 60025. Interment private.
