I find it curious that the Tribune, which displayed a very nice detailed breakout listing of the primary election results inside the paper, showed no vote tally for President Bush in the presidential results.

I understand that the nomination of Bush as the candidate of his party is a moot point, but he was on the Republican ballot and presumably received the votes of his supporters. Why not show the total votes he received? Is there something embarrassing about the number of votes for Bush that the Tribune doesn’t want readers to see?

Perhaps the real message is this: In the case of this president, the total number of votes still don’t matter.
