One advantage to being an out-of-work basketball coach is more free time, and George Karl is putting his to good use watching son Coby play for Boise State. Karl was courtside at Milwaukee’s Bradley Center Tuesday for the Broncos’ 66-53 NIT loss to Marquette. Coby Karl, a 6-foot-5 redshirt freshman who starts at shooting guard, played high school ball in Mequon, Wis., while his father coached the Bucks. “I’ve seen him play more this year than I did the whole time he was in high school,” said George, who’s an NBA analyst for ABC/ESPN. “It’s going all right,” he said. “I don’t know the first thing about ratings . . . but if they want me to sit there and talk basketball, I can do that.”
