Lorraine Nowicki, formerly of Roselle. Services for Lorraine Nowicki will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St., (3/4 mile West of Roselle/Bloomingdale Road), Roselle, and continue with a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Walter Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. She was born April 13, 1927, the daughter of Helen, nee Pinski, and Rolland Bender. Lorraine was president of the St. Bride’s Mothers’ Club and sang in the St. Bride’s Church choir of Chicago in the 1960’s. In Roselle during the 1970s and 1980s, she was a dental assistant and claims processor for Dr. Robert and Dr. George Mueller D.D.S. She was a member of the Welcome Wagon of Roselle. Along with her husband she was involved with the Roselle Jaycees. She was a devoted fan of her sons Pee Wee and Little League baseball teams in Roselle. Lorraine and her husband were longtime partners in a Wood Dale bowling league. She was also in a women’s poker club in Roselle. Until she retired and moved with her husband and son to Tucson, AZ in 1987, she had a monthly ladies club with her many dear friends from Bowen High School in Chicago, Class of 1945. In Tucson, until the last 10 years of her full and active life, she selflessly volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital and delivered for Meals on Wheels. Before being stricken with Alzheimer’s, her passion in life was being involved with her many activities. But foremost, was her passion for her family. Survivors include her husband, Norbert II Nowicki, whom she married on Sept. 6, 1947; children, Noreen (Doug) Keen, Nancy (John) Obermaier and Richard (Wendy) Nowicki; and grandchildren, Tanya (Jim) Flynn, Tony (Beth) Keen, Lauren and Jason Obermaier, and Kyle and Katelyn Nowicki.
