If you plan to clean your carpets, first pretreat spots and traffic areas using a cleaning solution in a spray bottle. Then, go easy on soap and chemicals (using only as much as the manufacturer recommends), and don’t leave the carpet soaking wet. Excess water can damage the seams and the backing material.
