Frank “Skippy” Janik, 82, formerly of Glen Ellyn Illinois. Beloved husband of Edith “Penny” Janik for almost 60 years; family includes three sons Jerry (Lori), Ronald (Pat), and Gregg (Vicki); he was well loved by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; he was also fondly loved by his brother Ted. Frank was employed for 50 years at Man Roland and retired as VP of Sales and Services in 1990. He also served in the Eighth Air Force during WW II. In the last few years Frank experienced several health setbacks including a stroke which impaired his speech. He was able to communicate through jesters and expressions and maintain a sense of humor in virtually. He was remembered for his ability to be optimistic and also as a practical joker. He lived his life with enthusiasm and touched many lives around him. In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated and can be send to the Humane Society or the Saugatuck Michigan Fire Department. Friends can call Ridgewood Funeral Home, 9900 N. Milwaukee, Des Plaines, 847-824-5155 on Friday April 30th from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow with burial at Ridgewood Cemetery.
