– Jaguar has restyled the S-Type sedan for 2005, raised prices on two versions and cut the S-Type R model to $58,330, a $4,125 reduction from 2004. The base S-Type 3.0 is $44,230, a $500 increase, and the S-Type 4.2 is $51,300, $2,000 higher. The 2005 models are due in May. Jaguar also raised prices by $500 on the 2005 XK8 coupe and convertible to $69,830 and $74,830 respectively. Prices are unchanged on the XKR versions for 2005 at $81,330 for the coupe and $86,330 for the convertible. The prices do not include the $665 destination charge.
– Base prices on the 2005 Subaru Legacy and Outback models range from $20,995 for a Legacy 2.5 i sedan to $33,395 for an Outback 3.0 R VDC Limited. The prices do not include the $575 destination charge. The redesigned 2005 models are on sale in May. One of the new features is a 5-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode is available on several models. All models have standard all-wheel-drive.
– The Saab 9-2X, the carmaker’s first all-wheel-drive model, goes on sale June 1 with base prices of $22,990 for the Linear and $26,950 for the Aero, not including the $695 destination charge. The 9-2X is a four-door hatchback based on the Subaru WRX. The Linear comes with a 2.5-liter, 165-horspeower 4-cylinder engine, and the Aero has a turbocharged 2-liter, 227-h.p. 4-cylinder. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard on both and a 4-speed automatic is a $1,250 option.
