Frank “Skippy” Janik, 82, formerly of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Beloved husband of Edith “Penny” Janik for almost 60 years; family includes three sons, Jerry (Lori), Ronald (Pat), and Gregg (Vicki); he was well loved by six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; he was also fondly loved by his brother, Ted. Frank was employed for 50 years at Man Roland and retired as VP of Sales and Services in 1990. He also served in the Eighth Air Force during WW II. In the last few years Frank experienced several health setbacks including a stroke which impaired his speech. He was able to communicate through gestures and expressions and maintained a sense of humor and vitality. He was remembered for his ability to be optimistic and also as a practical joker. He lived his life with enthusiasm and touched many lives around him. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated and can be sent to the Humane Society or the Saugatuck Michigan Fire Department. Milwaukee, Des Plaines, 847-824-5155, on Friday, April 30th, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow with burial at Ridgewood Cemetery.
