The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation is distributing nearly 200 bicycle helmets to low-income children. The helmets, donated by the Chicago SAFEKIDS coalition, will be given as part of the Safe Routes to Schools and Mayor Daley’s Bicycling Ambassadors programs. Safe Routes to Schools works with students through the school year and the ambassadors conduct programs from May through September at public events and Chicago Park District locations.
