It is interesting that as gasoline prices go up, people seem to change vacation plans to shorter ones. I recently vacationed in Colorado and paid on average $2.30 per gallon for regular and used 130 gallons in my SUV. We are used to paying in the $1.50 range. But it was a great vacation of hiking in the Rocky Mountains, and I made up the additional cost by not going to dinner every night.
Life is too short to not take a vacation where you want, regardless of the cost of gasoline.
