Signing Freddy Garcia to a long-term deal also seals Magglio Ordonez’s fate. Williams hopes he can use his injury as an excuse to sign Ordonez for a song and will insult him.
So the upshot of this deal is the Sox trade Miguel Olivo and Magglio Ordonez plus two top prospects for a very good pitcher and a catcher who can’t hit.
