Chevrolet has cut the base price on the redesigned 2005 Corvette coupe by $390, to $43,445. The 2005 convertible is $51,445, $610 more than the ’04. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard and a 4-speed automatic is a no-cost option, on the 2005s, due in the fall. The manual was a $915 option on the 2004s. The prices do not include the $800 destination charge.
