The Park Ridge City Council has dropped plans to finance a study of the condition of the Pickwick Theatre.
Acting Mayor Michael MaRous announced Monday that he is withdrawing his request for a special committee to oversee the $15,000 study.
MaRous said he made his decision because the owners of the 1928 art deco movie house do not wish to participate in a study, and a routine health and safety inspection of the building has found only minor problems, which the owners are addressing.
