I have been proud to be a Cubs fan since 1946, rarely missing a box score and listening to as many of their games as I can. But Monday night, watching Carlos Zambrano’s temper tantrums and his throwing at Jim Edmonds–twice–on national television, I was ashamed (“Zambrano act bombs; Cubs’ starter tagged for 3 HRs, nearly triggers brawl; CARDINALS 5, CUBS 4,” Sports, July 20). Zambrano owes Edmonds, all Cubs fans and indeed all of baseball a sincere apology–and professional behavior from now on.
