I just wanted to applaud your staff for the way you handled the computer glitch. You made every effort to apologize to your subscribers and to clarify the problems involved. I was sorry to hear that so many people called to complain, but I suppose that’s human nature. Many people take for granted the miracle of a daily newspaper–that hundreds of pages are printed and distributed to readers every day. The wonder is that, nearly every day for more than a century, without fail, you’ve been able to produce and distribute some hundred pages of text and photos. I hope you’re proud of your track record–that only the Great Fire of 1871 kept you from publishing your newspaper. Thank you for all the many, many times that this miracle has gone unrecognized.
