Annual small-business forum

The Office of the City Treasurer is sponsoring its third annual small-business expo, titled “A New Day for Chicago Small Business.”

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Chicago Circle Center, 750 S. Halsted St., 2nd floor.

Expo session topics include: how to write a business plan, effective marketing, small-business growth, obtaining financial capital, and survival strategies. The city’s Department of Planning and Development also will present a workshop on its new Small Business Assistance Center.

Exhibitors will include representatives from lending institutions, local government and business assistance groups.
