I am a 56-year-old lady who worked downtown for 22 years and I remember very clearly a lot of the restaurants and stores that you mentioned.
But what should not have been omitted: Woolworth’s.
It was so much fun to shop at, and when I was a little girl, my childhood friend and I would go and have hamburgers and shakes at the Woolworth’s fountain counter.
What a treat for two little Latino girls who turned in pop bottles in order to have enough change for our wonderful meal.
