Blanche P. Thuma, nee Jezek, died peacefully in her home early Sunday morning. She was the loving wife of the late George Thuma; beloved mother of Gerald Thuma and Gail (Michael) Huedepohl; proud grandmother of Cynthia Thuma, G. Michael (Heather) Thuma, Michelle (James) Mangan, Lisa (Sean) Latal, Laura Huedepohl and Michael Huedepohl Jr.; adoring great-grandmother to Ashley and Emily Mangan and Jessica Thuma; cherished sister of Eugene (Diane) Jezek and the late Miles, Laddie and John (the late Lillian) Jezek; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thuma was a retired employee at Jewel Food Store in Brookfield, with 25 years of service. She was a devoted Methodist and a member of the Brookfield Methodist Women’s Club, a loyal member of the Women of the Moose (Brookfield/Berwyn Chapters), where she was an officer for more than 10 years. She was also a member of the Moose Academy of Friendship. Blanche was also the recording secretary for the Six Meter Club of Chicago for 20 years, and was elected for a lifetime membership with the club. She was also very proud of her active role in Sokol as a young adult, performing gymnastic drills at Soldier Field. Funeral Thursday, Aug. 5, 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home, Ltd., 3845-47 Prairie Ave., Brookfield. Private committal in Woodlawn Cemetery.
