It was a colorful scene Tuesday as the Republican State Central Committee spent more than three hours interviewing more than a dozen potential candidates in 15-minute meetings.
One pulled on a white George Washington wig for photographers after his interview–he wears it to draw attention to his causes and lives out of a car he calls “Air Ford One.”
Three others weren’t even on the committee’s list but got interviews just by showing up.
Other notables who interviewed with the committee Tuesday were: James Oberweis, a dairy owner who finished second in the primary; retired Air Force Gen. John Borling, who finished sixth; retiree Norm Hill, who finished seventh; and Chirinjeev Kathuria, who finished in the eighth and final spot.
