Barbara Jean Binder, nee Ebert, 65, of Las Vegas, formerly of Chicago and Winfield, IL, died August 12, 2004, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 22, 1938, daughter of Homer Ebert of Chicago and William (Bud) and Jean Huey of Skokie. She married Robert Gary Binder on May 2, 1959, in Chicago. He survives. Also surviving are sons, Michael (Linda) of Plainfield and Stephen (Karen) of Carbondale; one daughter, Susan (Bud) of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Scott, Sarah, Michael and Lisa; two great-grandchildren, Cierra and McKenzie; one half-brother, Daryl (Yvonne) and half-sister Joanne. She battled cancer for eight years following a diagnosis that gave her one or two. Doctors called her a walking miracle. She deeply loved her family, and she enjoyed gardening, bowling, a spirited game of yahtzee or cards. In lieu of flowers and services, the family requests memorials go to the Hospice of your choice.
