Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
The next time a presidential candidate calls an editor (William B. Rood) of a major news publication to help him get a message out about an event they shared 30-plus years ago, please tell the candidate to simply authorize the release of the After Action Reports he authored at the time the events actually happened.
This would seem to be fairer to your readers than giving front-page treatment to, as Rood wrote, ” . . . the strained recollections of those of us who were there.”
Failing that, how about allotting equal space to the detailed accounts of other vets who were there and disagree with both Kerry and Rood?
