Alvin W. Mateling, age 76, of Wauconda, beloved husband of the late Anna Dean; devoted father of Patricia Ann (Donald) Whitson, David Allen (Eloise) and Alana June (Paul) Flatley; loving grandfather of Ryan, Dustin and Abby Mateling and Ian and Connor Flatley; fond uncle of several nieces and nephews. Mr. Mateling retired as Operations Manager after 36 years of service with AT&T Long Lines. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock, IL, Crystal Lake Senior Citizens and Woodstock V.F.W. Post #5040. Mr. Mateling was active in the Medicare Fraud Division of AARP and also volunteered for the American Red Cross while residing in Pekin, IL. Visitation Tuesday, 3 to 9 p.m., at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Rd. (1 block west of Rt. 83), Oakbrook Terrace, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
