Federal funding tips offered
The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity and the Illinois Technology Enterprise Center Network are sponsoring a workshop to educate small businesses, entrepreneurs and researchers on funding available from the U.S. government for fulfilling federal research and development needs.
The event is planned for 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Northern Illinois University Naperville campus, 1120 E. Diehl Rd., Naperville.
Project managers from 11 federal agencies will discuss federal funding opportunities, and they will meet one-on-one with companies to offer tips on how to tap into the $2 billion available annually via the Small Business Innovative Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Programs.
John Banta, CEO and managing director of Illinois Ventures, will discuss early-stage funding during his keynote speech.
