Virginia A. Boyer, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004 at her home in Plantation Estates, Matthews, NC. Mrs. Boyer was born July 21, 1918 in Chicago to the late Rev. Henry C. and Winona Hoover. Mrs. Boyer was always a very thoughtful, generous and selfless wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. Never without a smile and a kind word, Virginia was dearly loved by all and will be deeply missed by those who had the true pleasure of knowing her in life. She was involved in her local PEO Chapter as well as many social activities in Charlotte. Mrs. Boyer was preceded in death by her husband, Merlyn Boyer; and her brother, Gordon Hoover. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Stephens (Ed) of Charlotte, NC and Barbara Baker (Dennis) of Willowbrook, IL; grandsons, Kevin Baker of Illinois, Keith Abluton and Kelly Abluton of Charlotte, granddaughter, Melissa Whalen of Illinois; and her great-grandchildren, Christopher James Baker and Bridget Elizabeth Whalen of Illinois.
