A local bicyclist was struck and killed in a collision with a mini-van Wednesday in Mundelein, authorities said.
Scott Kelley, 27, of the 1300 block of Orleans Drive was riding his bicycle west on Hawley Street about a quarter-mile west of Illinois Highway 60 when he collided with a mini-van going east about 8:40 a.m., said Lake County Coroner Jim Wipper. The man was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the mini-van, who wasn’t seriously injured, was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Wipper said.
Police who are investigating the crash could not be reached for comment.
