Adele Westergren, 82, of Valparaiso, formerly of Oak Lawn, IL, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004 at the VNA Horton Hospice. She was born August 22, 1922 in Chicago to Henry M. and Alice (Kruse) Zippmann. On February 27, 1943, she married Robert R. Westergren, who preceded her in death July 5, 1999. Adele is survived by five children, Lynn (Michael) Vandenberg, Nancy (Robert) O’Brien, Kurt (Patty) Westergren, Jan Westergren and Scott (Kristin) Westergren; two sisters, Marilyn Davidson and Alice Douglas; one brother, Jack Zippmann; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m., at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. A committal service with burial of ashes will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mount Greenwood Cemetery in Chicago. In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to VNA Hospice. www.angelcrestinc.com
