Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

So Sammy Sosa feels humiliated, as well he should (Tribune, Oct. 31). But not for the reasons he gave regarding poor treatment. How about his .252 average (even less when it counted), almost three times as many strikeouts as walks, baserunning gaffes, etc.? If anything, Dusty Baker took too long to respond to Sosa’s poor performance.

And is Sosa interested in getting a ring by helping his team to a World Series? Guess again. “I’m going to play at least another five or six seasons, hitting 35 home runs a year. That would allow me to finish with 700 home runs.” It’s well past time to eat his undeserved salary and bring in a team player.
