The Village Board this week approved final plans for the redevelopment of about 10 acres on Illinois Highway 53 just south of Rockhurst Road where a vacant car dealership now sits.

The project, called Plaza Santo Domingo by Trinidad Development, will include 19 single-family houses, 18 town homes and one commercial lot. The houses are expected to range in price from $350,000 to $450,000 and the townhouses from $205,000 to $225,000.

The board also approved spending $20,000 to install more phone lines for the village’s 911 system. The project came in $30,000 under budget, according to Village Atty. James Boan. The work will be conducted by Dialogics Communications Corp. of Franklin, Tenn.
