Donald J. Stech, Oscoda, MI, age 80, died Feb. 2, 2005 in Tawas City, MI. Born Nov. 6, 1924 in Chicago to Jacob A. and Mathilda T., nee Drahos, Stech; beloved brother of Barbara; and dear friend of Bruce Lagerman. Preceded in death by sister, Ethel; and brother, James. Earned degrees from Chicago Teachers College and a MS from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. During WWII he served with the 42nd Infantry (Rainbow) and was awarded a Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star (plus two of the five major battle stars of the European Theater of Operations). Taught high school mathematics for 35 years as well as electronics and photography. Funeral Service Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Harrisville, MI.
