Edith K. Wilson was taken home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005. Born to Edith G., nee Rogers and James Wilson on March 31, 1911 in Buffalo, NY, living at one point within walking distance of Niagara Falls. Edith came to Chicago with her mother and two younger siblings at the age of 12. She graduated in 1929 from Carl Shurz High School, initially working as a dental assistant. Preceded in death by her brother Howard C. Wilson; survived by her sisters Margaret A. Jeske of Winton, CA and Elinor Fisk of Honeoye Falls, NY; numerous nephews and nieces; and her longtime friend Mercedes Guyette. Edith was an avid animal lover and a talented artist. She retired in 1976 after 17 years with Avon Products. At the time of her retirement she had a list of projects she intended to pursue, all in the area of arts and crafts. Her home is filled with examples of her various artistic skills, particularly in the creation of miniature rooms and doll-houses. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Morton Grove Community Church, 8944 Austin Ave., Morton Grove, with service at 2 p.m. Interment Irving Park Cemetery.
