The editorial about Amtrak is a shortsighted hatchet job for the Bush administration. Development of fast rail service is an important, somewhat environmentally friendly necessity. All chances of progress will wither and die without federal support.
The logic used to denigrate Amtrak can just as easily be used to end the funding of the ridiculous missile defense system. Where’s your editorial comment on that waste of taxpayer money?
