As a daily subscriber to your newspaper, it has been most interesting to read the letters and editorials concerning Social Security. Currently in my early 30s, I have been very fortunate to have started preparing for my retirement some time ago, especially since I believed that Social Security would not be there. But it bothers me that a great many of the people who appear to be making comments about President Bush’s plan are over the age limit of 55 and will not be affected by any changes whatsoever.
The point that seems to be missed most frequently is that, according to the plan being pushed, each individual would have the option of participating; in no way, shape or form would it be mandatory.
