William J. Donovan, age 84, of Lowell, IN, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005. He was born on April 18, 1920. William was the beloved husband of 60 years to Anne Dudink Donovan; loving father of the late Kathleen (Gregory “Bud”) Howe, William Donovan Jr., Terrence (Julie) Donovan and Mary Beth Gage; proud grandfather of Shawn (Jenny) Donovan, Megan (Bradley) Riordan, Gregory (Lana) Howe, Brian (Adriana) Howe, Amy (Curt) Coffey, Patrick and Kevin Donovan, Conner and Caitlin Gage; greatgrandfather of Alyssa Coffey, Grace and Lilliana Howe, Kelle Riordan, Cody Donovan and Aidan Howe; fond brother of the late Alice Noreen, the late Justine (Carmen) Nespeca and the late Thomas (Mary Lee) Donovan; brother-in-law of Frederick Dudink, Rev. Edward Dudink S.V.D. and Carmen Nespeca; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 12 p.m., at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Lowell, IN. Fr. Edward Dudink and Fr. Peter Muha officiating. Burial will follow at St. Edward’s Cemetery in Lowell. Friends are invited to call prior to service on Saturday from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. at the Sheets Funeral Home, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, IN. William was a WWII Army-Signal Corps Veteran. He was stationed in Iceland. Bill was employed as Chief of Purchasing for Eastman Kodak Co. in Chicago for 38 years during which he was elected President of the National Association of Purchasing Agents. After his retiring from Kodak, he was employed as Chief of Purchasing for the Chicago Cook Co. Government. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Fr. Edward Dudink or St. Anthony’s Hospice.
