This figures to be a very interesting White Sox season, given the complete turnover in philosphy the team underwent in the off-season.

Adding to the intrigue are some can’t-miss series for fans this season, in which some old and new faces visit U.S. Cellular Field this summer.

Detroit, April 29-May 1

Magglio Ordonez makes his first return to Chicago. How will Sox fans receive him?

Baltimore, May 13-15

Sammy Sosa makes his first trip back to Chicago. Anyone want to place a wager on Sammy convienently pulling a hammy and not making the trip? It’s Baltimore’s only visit.

Cubs, June 24-26

Duh. But if you can’t get tickets for that series, the weekend before the Los Angeles Dodgers make their first trip to the South Side since the 1959 World Series. Maybe Paul Konerko can wear a sleeveless jersey, a la Ted Kluzewski.

Boston, July 21-24

World champions in for four games at a time when the divisional races should be heating up.

Yankees, August 19-21

There are certain teams you just have to see in person. The Celtics in basketball, the Montreal Canadiens in hockey and the Yankees–baseball’s most storied franchise.
