Oprah Winfrey will stick to mansions and penthouses, thank you very much.
Turns out that the Internet rumors were false: The billionaire media magnate is not planning to move into a tiny high-rise apartment in Chicago to call attention to substandard urban housing.
“There’s no truth to the story,” Lisa Halliday, a spokeswoman for Oprah’s company, Harpo Inc., told RedEye on Tuesday.
In a report circulated on the Internet, the World Entertainment News Network quoted someone claiming to be a company rep.
In other Oprah news, it looks like the megastar’s magic touch doesn’t extend to cars. Though the O is known for turning to gold just about anything she touches (books, Dr. Phil, etc.), the Pontiac G6s she gave away to much fanfare last fall have turned out to be a flop for the automotive company, the Detroit Free Press reports.
