I am not an Illinois alum. I’m just a fan and was a casual observer of the NCAA tournament championship game Monday night, so this is not sour grapes on my part. It seemed like Sean May was free to run people over on his way to the basket and James Augustine was called for fouls for waving his hands in the air. I believe if the game were called evenly, May would have fouled out long before Augustine did, and the Illini would have prevailed. I thought I was watching Shaquille O’Neal knock people down like bowling pins and not get called for fouls.
