I enjoyed the insightful editorial “Life in a fat-free world . . . ” (Editorial, April 11). It points out how our economy has benefited greatly from the eating habits of Americans. While several business types were mentioned that I had not considered, I was surprised that the two most obvious benefactors were not mentioned–the pharmaceutical industry and the medical profession. These industries have a vested interest in keeping America obese and sick.
