It’s hard to believe that sword-swinging, arrow-shooting action star Orlando Bloom was once struggling to walk.
But it’s true–we nearly missed out on seeing the “Kingdom of Heaven” hottie on the big screen after a fall left him with a broken back, he revealed in an interview with “Access Hollywood.”
“I was 21, and I’d been around at a friend’s house,” he said. “They had a roof terrace on the landing below their apartment, and I jumped out of the window. … I could have done it. But instead, I got onto a drain pipe and fell back three floors.”
After 12 tense days recovering at a hospital, Bloom emerged walking on crutches almost fully healed. “Whenever I’m pushing [myself] a little bit too hard, my back starts to twinge, and I’m reminded of just how lucky I am,” he said.
Star power
Whether he’s a Hollywood icon or not is up for debate, but “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest will join other Tinseltown legends as a member of the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday, people.com reports.
Seacrest is due to get his star on the walk for his achievements in radio, according to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
That’s cause for celebration, and Seacrest reportedly did just that. According to The Washington Post, Seacrest partied Friday night in the nation’s capital, sharing a bottle of vodka with friends and, yes, dancing on tables.
NO WAY, BABY: The baptism of Coco Arquette may have been a picture-perfect event, but her parents are none too pleased about unauthorized photos of the event that are circulating via e-mail.
Courteney Cox Arquette and hubby David released a joint statement condemning the release of the photos and warning media outlets against publishing them, eonline.com reports.
“Although we are public figures, we do have a right to privacy,” the couple said in a joint statement. “The photos from our daughter’s christening are being distributed without our consent. Anyone publishing these photos will be in copyright infringement and liable to legal action. We appreciate your sensitivity to this matter.”
The fast-spreading e-mail, sent Friday, appears to have originated from Courteney’s “Friends” co-star Jennifer Aniston, but a rep for Aniston said someone posing as Aniston sent the e-mail from a made-up address.

Georgia police say they arrested the comedian Sunday after clocking his 2005 Bentley going 109 m.p.h, according to a report obtained by The Smoking Gun.
He was arrested for reckless driving and failing to pull over promptly, police said. He was jailed for about 30 minutes before posting bond.
Elsewhere, a New York judge issued an arrest warrant Monday for “American Pie” co-star Natasha Lyonne after she failed to appear at a court hearing, Reuters reports.
She was due to address charges stemming from an incident in which she allegedly entered a neighbor’s apartment and ripped a mirror from the wall. Police who arrived on the scene said Lyonne told the neighbor, “I’m going to sexually molest your dog.”
PHOTO FIASCO?: Reese Witherspoon may take legal action against a pack of paparazzi who nearly chased her off the road in Hollywood on Friday night, eonline.com reports.
Photographers swarmed Witherspoon, a frequent subject of the tabloids, after she left her gym Friday, according to the New York Daily News. Their pursuit of her car apparently spooked the actress so bad that one of her reps called the cops with a false imprisonment complaint. The paparazzi scattered before police arrived on the scene.
Witherspoon’s publicist did not return calls for comment Monday. The actress was a recent cover subject in Us Weekly, with the headline “Reese’s lonely marriage” accompanying a picture of her looking less than happy. She has two children with her husband, actor Ryan Phillippe.
IT’S OFFICIAL: They fell in love on TV, and their nuptials will be shown on TV.
CBS on Tuesday confirmed that the “Survivor All-Stars” sweeties Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich married Saturday in the Bahamas.
The wedding will be featured in a two-hour prime-time special, “Rob and Amber Get Married,” to air May 24. The couple is still alive on the current season of “The Amazing Race.”
