John J. “Jack” Brett, of Elmhurst, died March 22 in County Sligo, Ireland. Interment County Sligo. Jack was a retired Chicago Public School Teacher, a former U.S. Presidential Candidate and lover of all things Irish. Beloved son of the late Michael and Nell, nee Healy. He was preceded in death by siblings, Ann (Lionel) Walsh, Rev. James D. Brett, Norine (Jack) Sherlock and Eileen (Edmund) Mullin. Survived by sisters, Ceil Baubly and Michelle (John) Schlesser; many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Memorial Mass Saturday April 23, 10 a.m. at Immaculate Coneption Church, York and Arthur, Elmhurst, IL.
