WEDNESDAY’S ACTION

A former guard at Neverland ranch testified that he saw security notations ordering that the pop singer’s accuser be prevented from leaving the ranch.

SO WHAT?: Under defense questioning, witness Brian Barron was asked:

“If children are staying at the ranch and there is not a parent present, would it be the policy of the ranch to not let the children off the property?”

“Yes,” he replied. “That was the ranch policy.”

`PERFECTIONIST’: That’s what Barron said Jackson was when at the ranch: “Everything has to be right. … Everyone was walking on pins and needles a little more to make sure everything was right.”

NO, THANK YOU: A local police officer who worked part-time at Neverland, Barron testified that after he quit the ranch job in late 2003, he was asked by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department to return as an undercover investigator.

He said no.

NOTHING TO REPORT: The witness acknowedged that as a police officer he would have had to report anything illegal he saw at the ranch but that he never had occasion to do so.
