Hearing the phase “They may have to shut me down for one or two starts” makes me want to purge last evening’s dinner.
Logic tells me that one has to be “turned on” before he can be “shut down.” This typically applies to the often-quoted Kerry Wood when he gets his weekly “twinge.”
Don’t get me wrong, I like Kerry Wood. In fact, I wish the Cubs had 10 Kerry Woods on their team. That way they could rack up 70, maybe 80 wins.
