1. 1986 U.S. Open

As a 16-year-old wild-card entry, Agassi lost in his first Grand Slam appearance to Jeremy Bates of Britain 7-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

2. 1987 Wimbledon

The unseeded Agassi lost to ninth-seed Henri Leconte of France 6-2, 6-1, 6-2.

3. 1987 U.S. Open

He followed up his first-round loss to Leconte at Wimbledon by losing to the 11th-seeded Frenchman in the Open 6-4, 7-6 (6), 4-6, 6-3.

4. 1991 U.S. Open

Agassi was seeded eighth but was upset by fellow American Aaron Krickstein 7-5, 7-6 (3), 6-2.

5. 1993 U.S. Open

For the fourth time in eight years, Agassi made a quick Open exit, losing as the No. 16 seed to Sweden’s Thomas Enqvist 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 6-7 (3), 6-2. The next year he won the first of his two titles at the Open, where he has a 71-17 career record.

6. 1996 Wimbledon

Seeded No. 3, Agassi was stunned by U.S. qualifier Doug Flach–ranked 281st in the world–2-6, 7-6 (1), 6-4, 7-6 (6). Agassi has one Wimbledon title and a 44-12 career mark there.

7. 1998 French Open

Agassi lost to Russian qualifer Marat Safin, then the 116th-ranked player in the world, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. The next year Agassi won his only French title.

8. 2004 French Open

The sixth-seeded Agassi lost to qualifier Jerome Haehnel of France 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-3.

9. 2005 French Open

For the second straight year, he lost as the No. 6 seed in the first round, this time to Finland’s Jarkko Nieminen 7-5, 4-6, 6-7 (6), 6-1, 6-0. It dropped his record in Paris to 51-16.

Australian Open

Agassi is 44-4 in Melbourne, with four titles in eight appearances. He has lost twice in the fourth round and twice in the semifinals.
