Nearly 300 residents of an Antioch-area subdivision were advised to boil their drinking water Wednesday after a power outage, officials said.
Harbor Ridge Water and Sewer Co. lost power when a transformer blew Wednesday morning, interrupting the cleaning of well water. Power was restored shortly afterward, but officials as a precaution asked residents to boil water for at least 48 hours, or until Friday afternoon.
Harbor Ridge is on the outskirts of the north suburb and served by its own well.
