Starting his career as a sports writer before becoming a general-interest columnist at the age of 26 and and features editor at 27, the 29-year-old Bourbonnais, Ill. native is the winner of 16 national, regional and statewide editorial awards between 2001-04, including five first-places.
Through Wischnowsky’s weekly column at the Daily Times, called the “Wisch List,” he focused on the people, the places, the things — the who-knows-what — of Ottawa, La Salle County, and beyond.
“Northern IlliNOISE: Tales of a Territory,” a collection of 75 of Wischnowsky’s columns and stories at The Daily Times, is the author’s first book.
