I’m highly disappointed that Sen. Bill Frist is supporting embryonic stem-cell research (“Frist’s stem-cell stance creates rift; Bush’s reaction mild; religious conservatives say they’re outraged,” News, July 31).

He wants to be regarded as pro-life, yet he doesn’t seem to care that living human embryos will be killed–an intrinsic evil, unlike the morally licit alternative of adult stem-cell research.

With all due respect, Senator, you can’t have it both ways.
