This is regarding “2 fired over name change; Comcast apologizes to woman who got altered bill” (Metro, Aug. 18). Having worked in customer service for a number of years, I was horrified, not only because these employees’ actions were just wrong, but because it jeopardizes jobs. More and more each day I am interacting with customer service reps from numerous companies who are calling from overseas. If companies here cannot get courteous, conscientious staff, there are plenty of other people willing to do the job, at a lower wage and probably without the benefits that I’m sure Comcast employees enjoy. Workers here have to wise up.
