Peerless Price knew that NFL teams would make two rounds of cuts this week, so he asked coach Jim Mora to gauge his future with the Atlanta Falcons.

Not good, Mora said.

Less than 2 1/2 years after sending a first-round draft pick to Buffalo and rewarding the receiver with a $37 million contract, the Falcons waived Price on Tuesday.

Peter Warrick, the Cincinnati Bengals’ former first-round pick, also got the axe on Tuesday, the day teams were required to get down to 65 players.

In other news:

– Charlie Garner’s reunion with Jon Gruden’s offense lasted three games. The former Eagles, 49ers and Raiders running back was among 16 players released by Tampa Bay.

– Eagles DE Jerome McDougle, shot during a robbery attempt in July, will miss at least six weeks of the regular season.

– Rams CB Terry Fair, who was carted off the field with a neck sprain Monday night, could be ready to play in the opener.
